Grind Time – Ness Lee vs DirtBag Dan
The Punchline Summary:
From BOLA, Grind Time Now releases Ness Lee vs Dirtbag Dan. Grindtime Georgia’s Ness Lee travels all the way out to Los Angeles to take on California’s own, Dirtbag Dan. Ness’ last battle that dropped on GT was his battle against Sir Locksley, where Boston’s Locksley put up some cash to battle Ness. Dirtbag Dan was in legendary battle last, where he took on the ex-Scribble Jam champ Mac Lethal at Grizzlemania II.
Dan had a bars in this battle. He had a lot of really funny lines, as well a some really tough punches. In his three rounds he had bars like “the battle of Wounded Knee”, “jab at me – pappi”, “stomp his dick till he pees burgundy”, “be flat/Bb – music note”, “Mac Lethal battle The Saurus – two ugliest fuckers ever”, “you do tracks with Asher Roth, man you got some thug friends,” if he wanted to keep his shit, he would have stopped smoking in his house BURN!”, “Im a Lethal Weapon, Ness is getting too old for this shit”, “he brings a new meaning of getting coal for Christmas”, and “Santa’s helpers – Stone’s ‘Give Me Shelter’”.
Ness Lee was definitely on point in this one, with lines like “its my Achilles heel not my knee cap you stupid fag”, “with your cash I ran and grabbed a shirt that said Dirtbag Dan is a faggot”, “I’ll slap the Anglo Saxon out of this nerd’s accent”, “Swaves the ugliest rapper in Grind Time till Dan shaves his beard”, “Danny DeVito”, “you’re Mexican like….”, “you’re white as Charron is, and he’s whiter than Rone is”, “homie couldn’t roll an R if it was a car”, “theres a Mexican and white dude fighting inside you right now”, “I live in my car, the same one his chick gets smashed in”, and “novelty…bug repellent…..wearing off”.”

The Report:
This was probably my favorite battle that I saw when I was BOLA. Ness Lee and Dirtbag Dan are two of my personal favorite battle rappers in Grind Time, so it was entertaining to watch these two go at, especially live.
Dirtbag was consistent throughout this whole battle, and did what he does to win battles. He brought funny punchlines, personals, double-times, and solid bars. Dirt is good at controlling the crowd, and dropping easy to appreciate punchlines that result in a W for him. In a battle with Ness, you’re not only battling a guy with good punchlines, Ness outraps most other MCs. His fluidity, style, patterns are what really impresses the crowds and the judges. In this battles, he also met Dan head on with solid punchlines and jokes, and upped the ante with consistent flips in every round. I think what it came down to, was that he just had a more well rounded three rounds.
Looking at his Youtube results, Dan has battled everyone – everywhere. He traveled to Hawaii and battled Osna, went over to England and battled Oshea, Aspire in Vancouver, and even went to the Philipines and battled Anygma. Maybe the next battle for him would be 360 or Greeley in Australia? I think those battles would actually be pretty dope and a great show.
Ness Lee has really become a force to reckon with in Grind Time. I recently re-watched his battle with F.L.O, and realized how dope that battle actually was for both of them. His next battle is with Detroit’s Marvwon, which is going to be fucking ridiculous. Its gonna be an insane clash of styles – its going be interesting to see if both dudes are going to go street in this battle, or more the joke route. I also wouldn’t mind seeing Ness battle Jonny Storm at some point in the near future. Storm is guy that I think has always been dope, but as of late, especially seeing him in those 2×2 at Grizzlemania, his shit has been on another level.
