Grind Time – Moe Dirdee vs Real Deal
The Punchline Summary:
Straight from the legendary Shelter in Detroit, from the Detroit 187 event, comes Moe Dirdee vs Real Deal. Moe is a legend in the D, one of their most respected veteran battle rappers. His last battle was at Grizzlemania II, where he battled Aak. Real Deal, through demolishing battle rappers, has become a top tier competitor in Grind Time, with his last battle being against Definition in Don’t Flop and against The Saurus at Grizzlemania II.
Moe was solid in his three, with his second and third rounds being his strongest in this battle. He had lines like “James Yancey thats the Real Deal….I’ll make a syllabus to teach both yall who J Dilla is”, “golden shower…not the only yellow P on this fifty-nine 50″, “put this blackbird to his white chest – Pittsburgh Penguin”, “we just dragging his dead ass around – Weekend at Bernies”, “Nicki Minaj”, “the only reason you winning battles is because you aint been against a n* that would slap your ass”, “where the fuck is your backup – Office Hoyt”, “you’re daddy was a nurse, your mom was a trucker”, “if Dizaster brings his ass to the D, Dizaster has to answer to me…..cash, dizaster, deceased”, and the “I titty fucked her so hard, when I got off her, I left a shit stain” line.
Real Deal had lot of great lines in this battle. He had bars like “since you like comedians, I’ll break you down with comics that you bit your style from”, “Moe Dirdee…why…Moe 30 – 5″, “you been around from Ty Cobb to the iPod”, “must have been hard keeping out of trouble, you grew up with The Temptations”, “how you dirty/Dirdee and you washed up”, “softer than old folks Eskimo kissing on their wedding anniversary”, “even Chris Webber would look at his record and say time out”, “they murder here for capitol you pleading for the lower case”, “you’re a mark, you just said it yourself”, “my fist and your face can make an interracial couple”, “they murder all the time in the D, whats one Moe/more”, “bitch if not for Marv and Quest you’d fucking starve to death”, “when Slim said he hates black bitches, this is what he was talking about”, “I only chose to battle Moe cause Calicoe was terrified”, and the “do that motherfucker Dirdee, that means make an example out of em” closer.
The Punchline Count:
Moe Dirdee – 14
Real Deal – 21
The Report:
If there is such thing as a “new top-tier” Real Deal is definitely in the top 5 in Grind Time. The dude is beating each and every heavy opponent thrown his way. He did last lose to The Saurus, but that was an amazingly close battle against a battle rapper who some consider to be the best in the modern era. Each and every one of his performances contain everything that you need to be a great battle rapper: presence, personals, hay makers, topical lines, and freestyles & rebuttals. Each of his rounds are so clean and well put together, I mean, he’s just a beast. I’d like to see him battle a bunch of dudes that have all worked as hard as he has to build names for themselves. I’d like to see him battle guys like Eurgh, Dizaster, Soul Khan, and Swave Sevah. I think these all would be very close, interesting, and amped battles. The one that I can see happening soonest, would be Real Deal vs Swave Sevah, and could envision it going down somewhere neutral like MOB.
Moe has a style and sound that no other battle rapper really has. He has a good mix of that street style and jokes, come to think of it, that is how you can describe the Detroit battle style, Marv and Quest can be described the same way. He touched on it in this battle, but I agree – a Moe Dirdee – Young ZM battle would be pretty entertaining. We haven’t seen ZM battle in GT in a minute, and he always has a lot of great lines and puns, I definitely think that that battle should go down.
