Don’t Flop – Illmaculate vs Truth
The Punchline Summary:
Great battle from Don’t Flop’s Blood in the Water 4 event. The West Coast battling legend, Illmaculate flies out to the UK to battle the hometown’s Truth. This was the 2nd battle Illmaculate took part in while in England, his first being against Respek BA, which has still yet to drop. Truth’s last battles in Don’t Flop were against Scizzahz and Lee Scott. Illmaculate’s last battle was in a 2×2 with The Saurus in Canada against Manik and Spyte.
Truth had a lot of good schemes and patterns as well as solid punchlines. He had bars like “Lab needed a hamster to experiment on”, “look up to ….pick anyone over 4’2″, “irony that this is my biggest battle yet”, “you might as well add another L to your name”, “long neck…thats not the reason I’m head and shoulders over this competition”, “now you’re just a second option to a Bender like a quiet night in”, “independence denied”, “3.145 pieces – American pie”, “whats going to lose between a short fuse and a long reach”, “she knows all about his Napoleon complex minus the boner part/Bonaparte”, and “start acting PC cause you’re both micro and soft”.
Illmaculate had a lot of dope lines in this one. He had punchlines like “turtlenecks have to be handmade with a pant leg”, “they mistook him for the afterbirth”, “he’s full of shit, thats why he looks like a large intestine”, “I dont know what his secret is, but fuck him and whatever petri dish they conceived him in”, “his pops pulled out but somehow a single sperm developed on its own”,”his wife would have to lift his veil because hes so much of a bitch inside”, the Bar graph scheme, “now you looking hella dumb for talking like a smart ass”, “if he thinking Im a Tourista Imma turn this into Hostel now”, “organ donor, stab him with silverware and tell him to fork it over”, “if you do have a girlfriend, lets hope to God shes not fertile”, “all women are ignorant, none of them want to see a naked Truth”, “I wouldn’t claim you as an MC that I fathered by youre just a byproduct”, “I’ll give you the truth for free, but its ironic, because he said he was the truth and I bought it”, “he wouldn’t apply for a license for marriage if he was wifing an heiress”, and “Im hungry for success and you’re just thirsting for attention”.

Illmaculate is a beast.
Watch this battle, and then watch it again. Appreciate how fucking dope it is that the majority of each round he’s freestyling. All the while, his transitions are smooth and his concepts and themes are complex, and each one of them has heavy punchlines to cap them off.
That’s why he is one of the best. He has an insane ability to formulate and construct these intricate rhyming schemes and hay makers on the spot. His lines are not only complex, but they are intelligent and his word choice is phenomenal. People knocked him for these drawn out and long schemes, but in reality, he’s putting it all together on the spot, building his rounds in real time, while they are going on.
Illmaculate is definitely on of my favorite battle rappers, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of his 2×2 battles with The Saurus in the Grand Prix and his battle with the European heavyweight Respek BA.
